Hello all Im a newbie to this site.

My Girlfriend has a an under active thyroid.

Her Mom, Sister, and Dad have this condition as well, except his is hyper.

I noticed that my Girlfriend has crazy mood swings and sometimes she will say things that leave me in shock and disbeleif.

Its seems like small things set her off.


So far I have been trying to educate myself on the thyroid disorder and I stumbled across this site.


Has anyone experience this ?

yes. I have hypo. I had crazy mood swings and other personality issues (among other symptoms) until I started taking replacement hormone which is doctor prescribed, which I only take half of. I also started taking selenium and iodine supplement in very low dose as experiment and I feel pretty good now. I had to do something about it because I am a mom and couldn't put my kids through that. I was depressed and anxious and it was a rollercoaster. I had aches and pains and my hair was falling out and brittle nails. My eyes sight started going as well. I hope she seeks treatment. There is relief.
