Liddie and Diva- I have been buried in work and
couldnt get to the forum for a while. I just wanted
to tell you both that I am incredibly inspired by both of
your weight loss successes and love to hear the
good sobriety. Atkins is really the 'abstinence'
I have been dreaming of. I am not losing this week
but I have not cheated and I feel absolutely terrific.
Easy does it!

Hi Rusti! My DD took a picture of me in a bathing suit a few days ago
I do think that giving up all sugar has made this weight loss possible, I have weeks I do not lose, but I have been loseing all along, and still am, I have 21 pounds more till goal, and how ever long it takes it take, because I can not go back to the old way of eating, and I do not miss the lack of control and quilty feelings I had when I ate like that. I use the principles I learned in my Big Book in all areas of life today, and that helps also.

Hi Liddy- Are you actually awake too?!!! I always write in
the middle of the night so I don't ever get to interact with
a live person! cool! I hear you on the old ways and the
guilty feelings. I went through a real depression trying
to understand why God would punish me with this horribl
weight gain when I was being the very best sober person I could be. I do understand now that refined carbs are a drug.
I could not and cannot control a diet loaded with r.cs.
I love this forum. This is my new AA.

P.S.You must feel terrific with
fifty heavy pounds dissolved into history!

hi rusti! I had a great day! anothother productive day ahead of me today, then I am done my work week, we do four ten hour days, at home I want to get ready for the thanksgiving holiday, my kids and their familys are coming, and my parents, and youngest brother, so I will be cooking Thursday. My BF has to work, but he can come to dinner after he gets done for the day, then I hope to spend some time with him in the evening.

One of the fellows who went back out is back in the rooms again, I am always so happy when someone makes it back, so many of us die out there.

it is my TOM so weight is not dropping right now, but I'd like to get into the 170's soon

Hi Fellow Bill Friends,

My name is Jane (Cazzi is a nickname); I respond to both

This is an amazing thread. Just discovered you all and am very excited and motivated about it.

My sobriety date is April 17, 2006, and I've been low-carbing for about the same amount of time. Have gone from 132 to 106; I'm short. Not drinking has definitely been a key to losing weight.

You've been talking a bit about substitute addictions; overcoming one only to pick up another. Well, has anyone been prone to the "shopping addiction"? I swear, that's where I am right now, shopping for clothes I don't need. Already have lots of great things in my current size.

On the other hand, I am so grateful to be going strong countering the alcohol/carb addictions!

Would love some feedback. Now if I can just stay out of the stores during all the holiday sales...

Jane/Cazzi

Hi Jane! for my first several years sober, I went nuts with shopping, I have clothes for the next three sizes down, because as I got sober, I gained weight, Now after 14 years I am taking it back off, and it feels great, my sobriety date is 2/20/92

Hey Liddie,

Congratulations on your many years of sobriety. You are definitely an inspiration to a mere 7-monther like me. Thanks to being sober AND low carb, I feel better than I have in years. Also have started exercising after a long career as a couch potato. It's almost scary to be doing such healthy stuff after abusing my body with alcohol for soooooo many years. Well, the past is past. At the same time, I know that I can never get too complacent

Thanks so much for responding to my post. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday.

Jane

I will be around, Liddie. Afterall, I've been very well-trained by Bill and Bob.

Even being abstinent on low carb, I know that service/giving it back is the only way to keep it.
