Default Hi

Hello everyone,

My name is Serenity. I started on the Keto plan through my Bariatric Surgeon. I am not able to get any type of weight loss surgeries because of some of my other health conditions that I have had since birth and ultimately it felt like the program they started me on was the last thing I really could do in my mind. Since about two months ago I have lost 20lbs. However I still have a long way to go. I am wanting to get back to 180 lbs, or at least in that general area. I think the Keto diet is a great plan, but it is very hard because I love pastas and breads. However, I do not crave pasta as much as I used to. I found this forum through a book called 'The Ketogenic Diet' by Kristen Mancinelli. So I look forward to getting a lot of information and inspiration from everyone. Thanks.

Hi!!

This is the right place for information and support.

Watched Dr Fung video on fis IDM Program website yesterday and he soecigicalky spoke about the bariatric surgery is not neccessary . Just change the diet. And a fast day really gets the insulin levels down. Maybe you arent ready for a fast day yet, just kicking the bread and pasta to the curb is great !!!

We want pasta because it is more addictive than cocaine. Our brains love the stuff.

I was an avid bread baking, shelves of recipe books. When I went keto, I stopped baking bread. My health was MORE important.

As you said, cravings for pasta and bread decrease. Lots of low carb substitutions available now.

Check out Cooking Keto with Christie on youtube for immediate help.

Welcome to the forum!
