Default Stoneyfield yogurt

Just got my order of Stoneyfield Whole MIlk Plain Yogurt. I was surprised both that the cream on the top was so thick and buttery and that the yogurt beneath was so thin and runny. Is it always like that?

(Lots of area stores carry Stoneyfield, but none of them carry the whole milk, so the only way I could get it was to order a case -- 6 32oz. containers. Hope it's right!)

Beth

Hi Beth

I've never had any whole milk yogurt but I've read a lot of threads by people who have - some of them stir it to mix the cream layer in with the watery stuff underneath - other's dont because they enjoy both layers seperately. So I guess it's personal preference.

I'm not sure if I have bought Stonyfield's whole yogurt (I've bought other products by them) but I buy whole milk yogurt elsewhere, and it has the textures you mentioned. I stir it up, and it takes a fair amount of stirring to get rid of lumps.
