Ha...love that pic Chari. Well this is a good time for re-introductions.

I found this site because of Chari, I think I was on www.3fatchicks.com looking for support for the G.I. and Chari directed me here. It has been great support...thanks Chari.

I have been eating this way for about 2 years (can't believe it's been that long) and have lost about 60 lbs.

Now I am maintaining my weight although the winter was a struggle.

Cheers to all.

yeah love that pic its too much...

Well the way I got to GI is i ordered the book and while waiting for it I thought of coming in this webpage cause ive done other diets in here that never worked and thought that maybe I will find something on the GI way of eating... I lost 10lbs in 2 months and didnt regain either so im happy with that...so long i dont regain what i lost like all the other diets ive done before...I find GI is perfect for me cause ive always ate like that through out my life...its not a diet that makes you lose fast but it is steady and you can eat your carbs, fruits and still lose...just like mother nature intended...and once a while a DQ! LOL

I started with Atkins and didnt last 6months on it got sick on that way of eating...way too much fat and meat for me...then i decided to eat like i always did lots of veggies and fruits...and in life its not to change diets to be healthy, its you HAVE to be healthy to be on a diet...what i mean is that you have to get control of your health first before doing any diets...if you have diabetes, heart problem, high blood pressure, etc etc a lot of diets out there can make you feel more sick and can be dangerous for you...and with Schwarzbein Principle and the Zone they teach you be become healther and understand how a body works before going or starting any diets out there...

anyhow, i learned a lot with them 2 diets and trust me i kept a lot of their good points to this day...

and for Atkins, and this is MY opinion, i believe one day something will come out and people will realize that its not good for you...if it works for some by all means do what you want cause its your right...its really not normal to eat like that...your body will cry out to be cleans one day and thats what happened to me and i did fat flush and man did that work and my body felt great...again that is MY opinion...

you cant beat the Mediterranean way of eating...allllllllll nice and fresh...

I do love this way of eating!
Lanny , I guess I meant why doesn't it say g.i. diet also under your plan , or maybe you are not on this diet. The Zone is close, but you count everything in blocks. My sister who is on this forum had great luck with The Zone diet.

Stay green!

Just found the new thread. Chari, what happened to your recipes? Trying to start back on something that makes sense.

Hey Louloo! I took them out of my siggy , but you can always find the links and contents in my journal. Didn't think anyone was using them, have not updated in a while. Thanks Lou for responding. My DH has been in the hospital for 4 days so I am outta the loop. Good news, did blood panel yesterday and my cholesterol is better. I have been taking fish pills per Docs orders and they really helped. Now if I can get my butt in gear and workout!

Peace
Chari

Hi Chari.

I have your recipe link bookmarked and look at it almost daily for meal ideas. I am so "sick" of cooking the same things that I like to change my reperatoire (spelling?).

I hope DH is feeling better and glad to hear you are on your way.

I too need to get into active mode....we are having a toreential downpour here since last night..so I am staying inside to keep DRY.

Have a good one.
