Just thought I would drop a note to the board that Borowski's Health Food store on St. Anne's here in Winnipeg is supposed to be doing a low carb food demo this Saturday, June 21st showcasing some of the low carb foods now available.

We're still around. Plugging along in this heat.

We need fresh blood here in Winnipeg. Ray and I hang out at Borowski's. Passed out tons of business cards, recipes, etc. Lots of people doing Low Carb, but nobody seems to want to get together. Gets depressing sometimes.

So, the license plates for Manitoba aren't that accurate, eh?

Maybe it's that right now, people are going it alone. Our business card has a lot of web sites for low carb, including this one, so maybe they feel they have enough support already.

I found that the nut butters and Atkins bars were cheaper at IGA. The Ross bars were a little less at a drug store on Henderson Hwy.

Could you tell me where you get some of your products and their prices? How about psyllium husk?

Just a note, a little late. We get most of our low carb stuff at Borowski's. However, we tend to limit our stuff to the La Tortilla wraps, chocolate bars, and the Carb Sense tortilla chips. The girls have a great supplier who is bringing in all kinds of stuff.

I make my own bread using the Myra's Bread Machine Recipe, and the Gabi's Bread, of course. We make up our own cereal and pretty much stick to meats, veggies, and dairy that you get in any regular grocery store.

We tried the Dr. Atkin's Bannana Bread mix that was on sale at Safeway last week. It was surprisingly good. We tend to stay away from buying too many low carb products as they are very tempting, we fall into the same trap as low calorie, "it's low carb so we can eat more". Plus, I don't think I want to keep spending the $7.49 on bag of mix. Nice as an occasional treat but not a staple.

Anyway, just my .02.
