Lightbulb Nursing and Supplements?

I have been doing Atkins for approx. 2 months now. I have only lost 10 pounds. I am a nursing mother (morning and nighttime). I was wondering if anyone has any advise on taking the Atkins Supplements? Would they help me, nutritionally and speed things up. I would appreciate any advise anyone can offer. I can not find anything to say that I should not take them due to nursing????

hi there,

Atkins recommends that you should not folllow either of the weight loss phases (Induction and OWL) during pregnancy and nursing .. you should follow maintenance level. The Drs Eades of Protein Power recommend this also. Here's a list of articles from the Atkins Center on pregnancy and nursing .. http://atkins.com/global/search-res...=10&submit.y=11

As for supplements, do you still have any of your prenatal vitamins? Those are good to continue while breast feeding. In addition to providing basic levels of vitamins and minerals, they will contain extra calcium, folic acid (folate) and iron which are important to both you and your baby. Another resource would be your pharmacist, who knows what other medications you're taking, if any, and can recommend the best type for your individual needs.
