And I decided my favourite (okay, let's be honest... my only) option was the off button! I wouldn't mind if they didn't have the gall to charge us a small fortune each year to receive this drivel!

I watched it and thought BULLSHIT not one of them caqn be truly happy being overweight, I used to weight 26 stone 7lbs and I used to say I was happy, when deep down all I wanted to do was die!!
I think this programme did nothing for overweight people, but gave the british public a good old laugh and the chance to mock(again) pathetic

Speaking of rudeness and overweight people... did anyone see What Not to Wear (and that shows just how desparate I was to just sit down at watch something!!!) with Jo Brand?

Okay... based purely on her persona as a stand-up I really didn't like Jo Brand at all... not one bit. But seeing her in that showed a totally different side... one which really made you feel for her.

Whilst Trinny (what kind of a name is that?! ) and Suzanne absolutely ripped the poor woman to shreds. I mean they utterly destroyed whatever little self esteem/confidence she had... it was quite horrific to watch.

As was realizing Anna Schultz was the only designer who'd go near her in terms of working on an outfit!!! Gods, if it was me I'd have killed to have a chance to show off my skills by making Jo Brand look a million dollars!

I guess it just confirmed everything I already thought about so called fashion designers and their love of stick thin, straight up/straight down "women"... No bloody talent!

Ahem... anyway... there endeth my rant for the day!

I saw "What Not To Wear" with Jo Brand. It is a good job that Jo Brand is a strong enough person to give back as much stick as she had thrown at her! I've seen the programme on a couple of other occasions when they completely destroyed people's self-confidence. One woman ended up looking about 20 years older than she had done!

I don't know what makes them "experts" either!

I like the sound of Now more and more!

I must admit, I shrieked as many times at how awful they were looking as I did at how vicious they were to poor Jo! I also hate the way what they actually want to do is turn people in to mindless clones...

I know damned well my style of clothing suits me, but they'd probably throw their hands up in despair at someone daring to be an individual.

I cant belive fashion at the moment 80's are back in HOW??? it was awful the first time round!!!
This girl passed me with a horrid green top with the matching shoes and cheep plastic green earings (yuk) I like greens but the darker ones kakhi almost!! I am glad I am not a slave to fashion if I like something I will buy it not because everybody else has it. Its nice to be an individual.

I'm still waiting for them to bring Edwardian/Victorian back in... No wait, it'd only involve a lot of cheap nylon imitations and bad tailoring...

Sigh.

Glad I'm not alone in finding the whole 80s revival somewhat stomach turning! If we can't even learn from our historical fashion disasters, what hope is there for averting WWIII?!
