It's not a food, but Waitrose now stocks Karen Barnaby's LC cookbook--about a year after I bought my copy online. They've discontinued just about all of their LC junk food, though.

i've been plowing through this excellent thread for a day or two but met dissapointment when I went to get some of the goods. Neither Tesco, Morrisons , Boots , Superdrug or M&S appear to have much anymore. I'm really missing Ketchup but can't find any lo carb anywhere. Any suggestions anyone?

I also noticed some GI labelled stuff. I wonder if that would be useful?

Just been 27 miles to our nearest waitrose and found no LC foods, either full price or reduced!
They still have the KB cookbook, but not reduced.
Consloled myself with a fruit tart and espresso in their excellent cafe!

No, can't find LC ketchup anywhere now.

I reckon if you are going to eat carbs, GI is best for us

The Heinz website for low carb products has no ketchup and many other things are 'out of stock'. They are clearly winding it down as the site says it's closing in April 2006.

We low carbers are no longer fashionable it seems.

Alpha - Got some Heinz lo carb ketchup at Sainsburys today. It wasn't located by the sauces, it was with the healthy eating stuff.

Also for those of you wanted Low carb meals. M & S are stocking quite a large selection of low stuff. Scallops with butter, Chicken in a mushroom sauce, Crispy bacon strips, Prawn sandwich filler yum, The currys (without rice and stuff) are fairly low. Prawn Mukharmi (sp) Chiken balti all under ten. Definately worth a visit.

Thanks Vicki. I'll check my local Sainsburys first thing.
Yesterday I found:
Morrisons; kabanos salami thing with 0% carbs on the deli counter.Debbie & Andrews Harrogate gluten free sausages at only 0.5% per sausage!
Brussels pate with mushrooms 2.9% per 100grams so a reasonable 1/6 pack would be less than 0.5%
M&S smoked salmon pate 0.2% per 100 grams which is virtually the whole tub!
Iceland 'Good choice' chicken breast in white wine and mushroom sauce at 3.5% carbs per half pack serving.

I checked out some of that GI stuff today. Seemed to be about double carbs of the Atkins style products. Too high for me to bother with and at silly prices.

Just wanted to add that M & S also do a selection of meals for one which are fairly lo carb. Beef and carrots in gravy 7.4, Beef, carrots gravy AND small potatoes 10.6 (something like this) nice for an evening meal. They also do cheese crackers that are 2.6 carbs for one which makes a nice treat after tea!

Hey everyone,

donno if this has been mentioned, Tesco has this fruit yogurt in their healthy living range which is great. It tastes great and is only about 5g carb per 100g serving.

Hey guys.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I found some low carb books in Poundland yesterday.

Atkins Made Easy - The first 2 weeks
£3.59 at Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...glance&n=266239

and

Atkins Shopping Guide - What to buy? What to avoid?
£4.79 at Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...glance&n=266239

They were selling them together for £1. Don't know they are any use to anyone but worth a shot at 50p each!
