Default Really? Low carb is not new

Unbelievable headline today: "Just in time for the holidays: Low-carb diet may be key to losing weight" (the Mercury News).

What about Banting? Atkins? and numerous other proven low carb diets. There has been ample evidence that low carb works. Not "may be key". I just get depressed from the garbage that is considered news. Are news writers' attention spans so short that every single thing seems new and important to report?

Yeah, the same things seem to be rediscovered every year. :-) I think it is driven by news publishers just needing to fill up space and lazy lifestyle journalists.
