i have basically had cottage cheese and tuna and salad. I had to postpone dinner (chicken and more salad) until just now so that may be the problem. I am always afraid of taking supplements for fear of getting too much of something, but i think with this diet i will have to go shopping for some tomorrow. anyone have any favorites?

Lyle has a list of mandatory supplements in his book. If you haven't read the book, you really should before you start this diet. You can get into some real trouble with electrolyte balance if you're not taking the right supplements.

Get a multi-vitamin/mineral, I use Walmart's. Its cheap and covers a lot of vitamins and minerals and other stuff. I get the one without iron. Then use the supplements he mentions in the books, Fish Oil, etc.

Default the culprit!

thanks for your replies. i will definitely stock up. however, i think i have found the cause for feeling so horrid. i have a 103 temp. my kids were sick last week and i must have caught it. oddly enough, it just happened to show up today, the first day of my diet. off to bed i go.

Im not dishing out $20 for the e-book, so would someone please recommend a list of vitamins that is appropiate for this diet?

Also, I find that I can get through the day without any problems sticking to the diet and meals (or lack thereof). However, I find that when I come home, all my discipline goes out the door! Any suggestions on how to deal with this? I feel like I all my hard work goes down the drain!

The main thing is to take 6 1000g fish oil caps a day, and take magnesium to avoid cramps. Some extra potassium won't hurt (you can get that in lite salt if you use it) and be sure to not avoid salt unless there is a reason for dong so. Apart from that a good multi without iron is recommended.

My suggestion for when you get home is to fix something high protein for a snack, straight away. Maybe do some ham, ff cheese and pickle roll ups, or cottage cheese with Da Vinci syrup, for example

Val

Yeah, definitely keep yourself full of protein and the cravings and desire to cheat should abate at least a little. And distract yourself with other stuff, keep busy.

I'm down 1.5 pounds this week, doing my cheat meal tonight so there probably won't be any further loss.

Yes, they're safe with thyroid. Only thing I know of that causes a problem would be calcium, just take it 3 hours before or after you take your thyroid meds.

If you don't get the book you're playing a deadly game with your metabolism. Just so you've been warned.

You shouldnt take any supplement with your thyroid hormones. Period. If you swallow the pill it's on an empty stomach and you wait 1-2 hours to eat.

If you want to bypass this you can disolve the synthroid between your cheek and your gum, then take your supplements AND eat your first meal.

Joan's right. The issue, also, isn't how to do the diet, it's how and when to stop doing it. We can all do a diet - but can you maintain and keep the fat off?

This is perhaps the most important part of the book, that's why there are four chapters about stopping and maintaining.

Things are going good, though I did just break down and eat my "emergency snack" right after my 3 PM meal. I've had the Rumblies™ all day. I even ate lunch about 15 minutes early.

Semi-seriously thinking about the EC stacks, but we'll see where I'm at next week

I've been reading on the other forum... don't think I'll ever post there, LoL. This forum has spoiled me

Debbie

Debbie are you talking about the psmf forum? Can you give me the link? I used to look at it all the time when I was doing it but now the link that I have seems to lead to a closed forum.
