It can sometimes be a bit lonely and frustrating being a low-carber...
Hi there!
I know what you mean about not getting through to people. Luckily, my husband is going along with my changed eating habits, and has no trouble making bacon and eggs for breakfast for himself or our daughters, but when I mention to other people that I have changed our eating habits on the basis of having read quite a few books and websites and now eat lots of eggs, as well as cream and cheese and meat, I do tend to get rather funny looks...
I have now started to say that this way of eating suits me, and it seems to be doing my daughters a lot of good, too, who've reported that they don't need a mid-morning snack when they've had eggs/bacon for breakfast, but that everybody has to choose what suits them.
I know I couldn't possibly begin to explain all the science and studies behind the low-carb WOE without sounding evangelical or being very boring, but, fortunately, I have felt so much better - especially in terms of energy levels - since I cut the carbs, that I am still sticking to it, despite the looks of horror and disbelief I occasionally receive!
Enjoy your new books!
