I'm thinking of trying out TKD. As I understand it, I need to eat carbs right before lifting. My question is... does this lifting need to be an all-body lifting? For an example tomorrow morning I plan to eat a sweet potato 45 mins before lifting, but only upper body lifting (don't have time to do lower body as well). Would it be ok if I did that? Or would it be better if I were to weight train the whole body after carbing up? I would like to get into ketosis after I finish with my workout.
Sounds pretty good Em, but maybe half a sweet potatoe would be enough. I don't know how many carb are in an average sweet potato but you'll have to work with it and tweak it till you get the amount that works right for you.
Hi Chip! Thanks! I ended up eating 3/4 sweet potato, 3/4 cup of lowfat ice cream, 5 skittles, and a handful of hc cereal I'm guessing that was around 60 grams of carbs. I'll do better next time around lol! But I did do a full body workout. Figured out how to work those leg machines. Leg extensions, leg curls, oh my!
