Happy Saturday, Plankin' Peeps!

Good job powering thru with your workout, MM! I get like that and just have to "get 'er DONE!" We feel so much better afterwards, don't we??

Thanks for the encouragement, MS! But I'd like to be able to do it all at one time... but I'll keep plankin' away til I get there!

Yesterday: increasing again. 1:10, waited while I checked email, 50 sec.
Awesome job with the increase!

Good morning to you planners and pushers-up!

I'm figuring out why I'm so slowly increasing this time. Last night, I did 1:20, and then, when I did my child pose with arms extended, my left shoulder had an agonizing spot that did NOT like that position.

I'm sure it's from carrying a big purse around for a week, something I don't usually do.

So, I took the 1:20, and called it good. Even though I'm only using a purse on occasion, not for big chunks of the day, I'm switching to one 1/2 the size. Funny how we seem to put as much as we can in a purse, whether we need it or not, huh?

We all missed reporting on Sunday. Oh, well.

I did 1:30/rest/40 on Saturday.

Yesterday, completely forgot about it till I was in bed, half asleep.

THAT has to quit.

I took yesterday off, as planned, and back on track today.

Did my usual workout and added 2 reverse crunches. The 14th reverse crunch wasn't pretty and there's no way there was going to be a #15

My version of a reverse crunch is laying on my back and lifting my straight legs to 90 degrees, lowering almost to floor without touching and lifting again.

The excruciatingly slow internet this past week or so is cutting down on actual time to post.

So here's the update since Monday:

Monday: 1:30/rest/45
Tuesday: 40. Dunno why. My lower back was in pain, my upper body was trembling. It happens, sometimes. I remember, when I first started planking way back in 2013, I'd gotten up to over 30s, and then had a day where I collapsed at 15.

I was running late today so I couldn't get my workout in this morning.

I will be right back at it tomorrow though. No excuses.

Have a great Planking Day Everyone! Go Team!

As I promised myself yesterday "no excuses" so I was back to my workout today.

I've decided to add more reverse crunches to where the last one is very, very difficult. Today I did 16.

The scale isn't budging but I feel stronger, which is the whole point.

This weekend I will finally get to read "Why We Get Fat" as it's in at the library. I've been waiting for it for a long time.

Wednesday: 1:20. Better, but not great. I do have to respect my back's needs, I guess.

I've also been doing squats throughout the day, as a way to remind me to stand properly, as well as strengthen my butt and thighs, and keep my knees more loose.

Happy Friday, MM and MS!

We seem to be the only three still workin' on the planks that are postin' to this thread or am I mistaken?

In any case, Keep on Plankin' ON!

Barb, I believe, is still on her little island in Canada. Who knows if the others will return?

Yesterday: 1:10/long rest/1:01. Still having lower back issues, so the more I can strengthen it with other things besides planking, the better off I'll be.

Currently, I am taking a rest from bouncing on the balance ball while I watch the Olympics opening ceremonies.

I've been impressed, so far. Love the idea of each of the athletes planting a seed as they enter the arena, and then an Athletes' Forest being planted from the seedlings!
