Default Once again, dragging myself to the gym!

Since my journal has been successful in making me stick to this diet, I wonder if a gym journal will be successful in helping me stick to the gym; another thing that I've managed to quit on many times in my life.

I was a member of David Lloyd when I was 16, stopped going when I was 17. I barely exercised until I left uni at 20, and the weight I gained when I was at uni is what I'm trying to lose now. I started again last year but didn't lose a pound as I hadn't got my eating under control, and at £46 a month (more than $70) I just couldn't afford it.

I've started at a new gym now, smaller and less corporate, that I get a discount with because of where I work. I'm paying less than £30 now (so a lot less than $50) and I can drive myself now, whereas before I had to rely on the bus (nightmare) or a lift (an imposition on my boyfriend) to get there. These factors are helping me already.

Another great benefit of this gym is that they have an online booking service for their classes, something I never had before. Knowing that no one's expecting me at a class makes it very easy to back out if I've had a hard day at work, but if I've booked in, I know there's a list and I know that I'm occupying a space that someone else could've taken if I don't turn up, gives a certain sense of obligation that I SHOULD have towards exercise. It would have taken me twice as long to lose my post-festival gain if I hadn't been going to the gym, and hopefully it'll keep my at my goal loss of 2lb a week!
