Default KCNMA1 and BDNF genes and Obesity

KCNMA1 and BDNF genes and Obesity:

rs2116830 G Yes GG
rs988712 G Yes GG

Lucky me, Got both according to 23&Me and Nebula Genomics raw data dumps. I suspected as mutch, not only that it's familial Homozygous

I'm curious if having this testing done and getting these results has changed your outlook or how you intend to eat?

I've considered testing, but for the things I'm curious about, I pretty much already know the answers on how to manage or treat and they're things I'm already doing. Getting "positive" results on obesity genes might just be really demoralizing for me.

But I can see for that for some people it could be helpful mentally--someone has struggled for so long and knowing that it's not just that they're failing in some way or have limited will-power, but that their genetics are against them.

For all we know those genetics are probably the good ones that kept humans alive through the centuries.

It not the cards you're dealt, it's how you play them that determines the game.

The "stone age pancreas" theory asserts exactly that. People who went into their zone's food-scarcity-time storing fat like bears could coast through some inevitable food delays until spring.

Later, when we gathered enough to have infectious disease problems, having enough fat to burn off a serious infection with high fever and disrupted digestion was another survival factor.

And I don't need a genetic test to know how carbohydrates affect me. The lower I go, the better my body currently likes it
