I was attacked by a giant strawberry..
CHEESECAKE.
Just got back from a Garden centre trip with Mrs. R.
We were after bedding plants and tomato plants and strawberry plants. We were doing well. I was trying to imagine the taste of the variety of strawberry we were thinking of buying when the centre coffee shop loomed into view.
Lets stop for a cup of coffee. There on the counter was huge Strawberry Cheesecake neatly divided into twelve pieces. It must have been auto suggestion, and I must have got a nose of the strawberry but suddenly my gastric juices went into overdrive. A slow rumble at first then the major onslught on the brain.
My mind went through the LC mantra as a defense. "Sugar is satan, sugar is satan, stop me now and give me some bacon."
But then the little devil started its insidous attack. Strawberries are ok it said quietly....cream cheese is Ok.......you don't have to eat the base it said with an air of persistant authority.
"Two cafetieres and a Strawberry Cheesecake please" suddenly erupted from my mouth.
Too late now.
Did I eat the base?.... Of course I bloody did! Was it good?
It was stupendous.
It was a very severe attack of the strawberry cheescake.
Beware! there is some left
Rustpot,

ooh, I love your rhyming mantra. I'm going to use that.
So... twice a year, have something wonderful and seasonal--no big deal, just move on. Kinda irritating, isn't it, that this bad stuff still tastes so bloody good!
And remember, strawberries with whipped cream and Splenda (if you still have some from your trip to the states) are fine!
