Default When is it safe to start running again?

Any runners here, who are (or were previously) too heavy to run? Im 183cm 6ft tall and 55 years old - former marathon runner. Diet is in progress and I’m on my way down from nearly 300lbs. Hoping to restart slow running on treadmill at 245lbs.

Very interested to compare to what other runners are doing, or to hear of other people’s experience of restarting their running careers.

I am super motivated to get running again but don't want to do myself a mischief!

(Yes I know there’s an exercise section here but there are no recent posts so I figured on using general support section instead.)
