Unhappy I'm back after way too long!!!

I started phase 1 again on Monday after about 2yrs.

I've tried exercise alone, and I toned a bit but no significant weight loss.

My office manager showed me a pic from 05 when I was on South Beach...I really want to be that person again, but I am so far from her!

Please help with breakfast and snack ideas.

Thanks!

Christa, according to your stats you only have five lbs to lose. That doesn't seem like a whole lot to me. I have over 200 to lose. However, if you want breakfast ideas you might want to try thinking out of the box. Forinstance, One of my favorite new breakfasts is soup. I make a big pot of soup from boxed chicken or beef stock then I throw in all of the lc veggies I can find and add some seasoning and some thyme and that is it. Just let it simmer slowly for a while until the veggies are soft. You can even do this in the crock pot. You might add a little meat to up the protein. I cool it off and stick it in the fridge. Now in the morning I can just dip up a bowl full and throw it in the nuker. It is a fast nutritious meal that gives me a head start on my veggies for the day and it really stays with me. I don't usually hit that 10am. low that I used to get when I was full of carbs.
There are lots of other choices, omlets full of veggies, yogurt, tomatoe slices, a chunk of lf cheese. If you look in the kitchen section here you will find lots of choices, just be sure that they are okay for the level of the plan that you are on. Also some of the recipes are more attuned to the Atkins diet. Just adjust the fat levels and anything else that might need adjusting.
Wishing you much success.

Hi, Crista!

Do you really only want to lose 5 pounds or are those old stats?

My favorite snack is veggies and hummus. My breakfast is totally Ph 2 so that's no help to you now.

For breakfast, you could buy some flaxmeal and try the pancakes or the muffins. It makes a welcome change from eggs.

I'm in phase 2 and still eat them. The difference is that I now add fruit to my pancakes and muffins. When I hit phase 3, I can still see myself eating them (amongst other things), cause they're good food and they're a bit of a 'staple' for me.

I don't really snack much now and when I do it's fruit or cherry tomatoes.
But in phase one I snacked on things like olives, cherry tomatoes, avocado, nuts. Lots of people snack on cheese but I don't as I'm lactose intolerant.

Hope this helps.

Check out the SB recipe thread ... lots of ideas for breakfast and snacks. If you scroll up the page, you will come to the Recipe Index, which links to all the previous recipes.

Good luck with starting over

GOod luck, CRista. I had my first day back on Phase 1 today after gaining 25 pounds of my 30 lost. My motivatino is fragile, so I don'T know how long this will last, but just enjoying the fact that, finally, some motivation is back.

My typical snacks: hommus and veggies (especially coloured peppers and crunchy caulflower), hard boiled eggs, protein shakes I make myself of soy milk and sweetened protein powder, nuts, cheese and lunch meat, yogurt and protein powder, protein muffins. HOpe this helps.
