On body temperature, fwiw, this from the NYT :

Quote:
A decline in Doug Hansen’s core internal temperature, for instance, would suggest a slowdown in his primary aging process (data from a respected study on aging shows individuals with lower temperatures generally live longer).

which makes sense to me, fwiw. Chemical reactions happen more slowly at lower temps, so lowering temp would suggest that the reactions that produce aging might slow down.

Didn't Price also observe that many American Indians who lived inland traded for dried roe and other seafood?

It's great to hear something useful about Vitamin A. There's been so much talk about Vitamin D, and Vitamin A is usually found in much greater quantity wherever there's Vitamin D. It's easy to start worrying about them competing with each other. Now I feel like I'm right on track eating liver...

I haven't read his actual books yet. Wouldn't surprise me though. Also freshwater fish were a staple of most native american diets and they may have decent levels of iodine.

Is iodine something that gets depleted from soil the more you farm it? I remember hearing that indians would bury fish with their seeds.

My Mom also used to use fish emulsion when she planted things.

If you have autoimmune hypothyrodisim, iodine can actually worse your condition. Personally, I would only supp after an iodine loading test. If the thyroid is underactive I think natural thyroid is best. JMO

Since Armour thyroid is almost impossible to get right now (and perhaps forever, who knows) I told my doctor that I 'd like to try taking Iodoral instead, to see if it helps, rather than going to the synthetic thyroid meds. So I am going to strictly take iodine for the next few weeks, and no thyroid meds, and then get my blood tested. I guess I'm a real guinea pig right now! My doctor is very interested in the results, as well, and has encouraged me to do this. (I have tried the synthetic in the past, and did not have good results with them, hence the dr's desire to see if this could help me and possibly other patients who don't respond well to the synthetics.)

So...give it a few weeks, and we'll find out if it has helped my thyroid or not!

If this doesn't work, ask doc for a script for Erfa. It is exactly like old armour.

It did not work for me, it made my RT3 problem worst. I now take T3 (Cytomel) and that works great.
