Judy,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. South beachers know they can always rely on you for advice
* Pepsi /coke is ALWAYS diet - maybe 3 cans a week, rest of the days I mix crystal light to water as an alternative drink to pepsi.
* Water is at least 2 Litres everyday...
* a glass of wine once every 2-3 weeks
* My veggies come from the South Beach phase 1 list - mostly Cauliflower, cabbage, Spinach, Red, green, yellow bell peppers, string beans, bottle gourd (I love my veggies!)
*I do like Beans and lentils and have them often because I dont have non-veg everyday. And beans , lentils are rich in protien (vegetarians rely on these). I also add tofu to my meals sometimes to add variation. My bowl serving size is small. (not the cereal bowl size)

I've been on phase 1 eversince I started (January!) I tried adding a slice of fruit to move onto phase 2 but it doesnt work for me. My cravings trigger off. I even excluded fudgescicles for sometime since they make me crave for more (but that's the only thing that keeps me going =).....so limit myself to one a day.

I also wanted to bring to your attention that I lost about 5-6 lbs. in the first 2 weeks then gained back3-4 lbs within the following 2-3 weeks...and from then on, it's been 1 lb up or down which is driving me crazy. I feel good but I look just the same as before

I am also losing patience and really want to cheat. I find myself thinking too much about breads & chocolate treats these days! Sighh!.....HELP!

hi, it's just an idea but maybe you should quit eating cabbage and spinach (also brocoli, brussel sprout if you are eating). my doctor told me they were inhibiting the thyroid glands at some people. you may replace them with other veggies like zucchini, green beans(perfect fiber source), etc.

You may easily be overeating this category if you are not measuring them.
1/3-1/2 cup twice a day is the limit of both beans and lentils.

I can help but you will need to start a journal here and log your food in it daily so that I can see exactly what you've been eating...with measurements.
