I had quit buying cheese until the other day I found Walmart here had the Cabot "Extra Sharp" white cheddar. Last time I saw that was in TN years ago. Without thinking I grabbed it. Perhaps coincidence, but this week I have backache, wrist pain and sinus congestion?

Well today was Day 1 - No Cheese. WRONG!! I went to lunch and not thinking ordered Philly cheesesteak sand - no bread. 😱. Cheese. Then planned dinner yesterday to fix a low carb chicken cordon bleu. 😱. Cheese. Well tomorrow is another day! Amazing why I’m stuck. Thanks y’all for posting. I reading and think 🤔 I’m listening. 😊

Telling myself that not eating cheese is just like not eating cookies. Takes time to develop the habit. I can’t remember how long it took to be disinterested in cookies and chocolate but it must have been at least a year. Cheese labels say zero carbs so it’s a funny twist. Keeping my mind on that disastrous insulin spike helps. I really don’t tolerate hunger.

Cabot is my cheese. And Finlandia Swiss. Umm, I mean they used to be mine. Now I don’t eat cheese because it makes me fat and dull. But if I did...

Thank goodness I got over cookies and bread etc pretty easily and quickly. Cheese was another thing. I agree with the twist of zero carbs. I fell for it. Bad news! I’m on course now.

Yes! I forgot about that. In my case just TOO much cheese I think. Anyway, it was a NO CHEESE day yesterday and down 1.7 lbs. In all fairness, I believe I may have had a slightly salty dinner the night before so that could account for the UP number
On to No Cheese Day 2!! 💪🏼

I was actually working the food thing to drop the pounds ( lots of broth days) and that cheese caused a hiccup!!

No cheese yesterday-- no kefir either.

For me and my culture, the cheese is eaten by it self at the end of a meal and is treated as a delicacy to be eaten, savoring every bite. I think the SAD evolved American cheese into a condiment or filler, eaten mindlessly, to be added to those cookbook casseroles along with a lot of carbs and little meat. That is the downfall of cheese in our diet.
Have it but have it with reverence.

After reading this thread, I will TRY to get through some days without cheese, but when I do have cheese, I promise I will have it with reverence ! Much like bacon!

Yes, even the Jack-in-the-box "Hearty Bowl" can get you -- even if you don't eat the 'tater tots' at the bottom

I wish I could have bacon that way but it just seems like another protein to me now. I buy several lb packages of Jamestown Brand for $3.25 at HEB and freeze them. They clean out of it pretty quick so when I find it, I stock up. It has a few miss-cuts but for the price and quality of flavor, I love it. It's made in North Carolina, the center of the world for bacon making...
It's in a white and orange box, 16 oz but you have to read carefully because sometimes they will sneak in 12 oz packages.
