Unhappy Still Stuck

I know that everyone says to go my measurements and yes, my jeans are much more baggy now but I am sooooo frustrated that I am not losing weight. I lost a lot in the first 10 days but have not lost any since July 8th. I have been keeping my carbs between 20-30 per day and I walk 20-30 minutes a day. I use the hidden carbs calculator whenever in doubt. I do feel much better which is obviously the most important thing and that is what is keeping me on this WOE. But when is this blasted weight going to come off?!?!

Donna
PS: Sorry if I sound like a whiner but I needed to vent...my family doesn't understand how hard this is though my hubby has been fairly supportive. I guess I am feeling rather isolated.

Hey Donna,

You don't sound like a whinner, anyone would be frustrated if they were being good without any results in that much time.

Personnally I could NEVER go over 20 carbs and loose and typically I HAVE to stay under 10 to loose. Everyone is different. The secret is to modify the basic diet untill it clicks with your own matabolism and body.

Try lowering your carbs and staying with lower fat meats and see if that changes anything! Limit cheeses and anything else which makes you retain water.

Don't give up!

What are you eating and drinking Donna? If you post your daily menu, we can give you a hand.

Default today's food

Ok -
Breakfast= 1/2 c coffee, 2 eggs scrambled with onions and topped with shredded cheese.

Lunch = 1/2 c lowfat cottage cheese and about 1/2 c shrimp

Snack=2 small pieces of beef jerky

Dinner= 6oz salmon piece with sauteed mushrooms and onions (this is becoming a favorite of mine - at least once a week now!)
Steamed cauliflower topped with shredded cheese and a small lettuce salad with 1 T dressing(which had 3 carbs)

Throughout the day - I drink about 60 ounces of water (sometimes more) and one diet coke.

Heading out for my 2 mile walk right now!
PS: I am trying to remember that quitters never win and winners never quit.

Your body sometimes needs time to recompose. But hey! You're 1/4 of the way to your goal.

I've been through a couple of stalls/plateaus myself. Right now I'm not eating any dairy to see if I can shake things up a bit.

Is what you ate typical of everyday? If yes, it looks good! No carb bars, a few too many nuts, protein shakes, cold cuts, low carb treats or too much fruit? Have you yo-yo dieted? On any medications?

I am of the opinion that unless you can stick with it religiously for an extended period of time, you'll be back to square one everytime you fall off the wagon. You'll always be playing catch-up.

I would nix the LF cottage cheese at lunch - I know it's allowed on Protein Power - and have a salad to go with the shrimp instead.

Exclamation weigh day

Karen: Thanks so much for the advice.
Dalene: I appreciate your encouragement.

Today was weigh day and I guess the whoosh fairy must have heard me whining because I am down 3 lbs. Hooray!

(Either that or just getting it off my chest took off the weight!)

Hopefully, I can keep this going now!

g2g update my profile -

Either getting it off your chest or out of your mind. Both work!

Weight loss generally happens in fits and starts. If it was steady and easy all the time, we wouldn't be here.
