Default Does CALP REALLY work??

I am going to start CALP tomorrow. I started 2 weeks ago, but came down with the flu and felt awful for about 2 weeks, and lived on saltines and sprite.

I really want to do this. Does it really work?? Atkins people that ive talked to scoff at the whole reward meal thing, but ive tried atkins and it's always been too restrictive for me

I can only speak for me- I have never done any other plan and I consider myself a success. What I have found is

1. you have to DO THIS AS WRITTEN- it is not atkins with a binge meal
2. DO NOT CHEAT - only have carbs with your one RM
3. BALANCE YOUR RM
4. EAT YOUR VEGGIES
5. The less sugar and alcohol, the faster I lost weight.

this is my experience- YMMV. There are others who have been very successful on this WOL- chime in with your hints.

Good luck and I'm glad you feel better. The couple of times I have been sick in the last 5 years (yes, I am much healthier since I do CALP!) I have craved crackers, toast and tea. Instead I have chicken broth and tea and celery. It is tough, but I feel so good eating this way I will not give it up.
HTH- please come on and post and let us all be in this together-
E

hi-
I have never eaten a lot of cheese or butter. I use only butter or olive oil, and only real cheese. I have cheese in my eggs and salads for an added taste and texture. I will eat cheese for a meal only if there is nothing else for me to choose.
I use only real sour cream and cream cheese and yogurt, but again I don't eat a lot. If I put cream chese in my eggs, for example, I'll use 1 ounce.
HTH-
