Hi-

I have a question regarding the herbal sweetner Stevia. I have a stevia product called "Better than Sugar Co." stevia powder; I think the stevia is mixed with some kind of chicory extract and a carb-free filler to dilute it. Has anyone used this product? If so, do you have any guidelines re: ratio to sugar when converting a recipe.

Alegra,

My doctor told me about Stevia many years ago and I have been a fan ever since. Stevia is a plant - the leaves of which are harvested and are very sweet. It is my understanding that it does not spike your blood sugar, and it fully supports the pancreas, unlike artificial sweetners. It is 100% safe for diabetics and hypoglycemics and those with yeast problems.

I use it every day and think it will be fine on your LC diet.
