Default What is the Candida Diet I keep reading about???

Yep, I am reading up on this Candida
diet. I think I need it. I have taken
antibiotics for past infections, our
family has a history of "bloated"
stomachs, and of course I LOVE
BREAD!
I hate for this to mean that I can
have NO Splenda! I need it! I
can do the water thing, I drink
it all day long-but I look forward
to my herbal tea at night!

Can someone give a rundown of this
and also how to go about getting
rid of the "beastie yeasties" as I
saw someone call them. ???

Thanks- from a Newbie!

I myself am trying to figure out if I have yeast problem or lactose intolerance, right now I am not sure what it is. I just know that when I eat cheese my insides don't like it. What are your symptoms??? mine are gurgling in upper and lower GI, some bloating, gas, sour stomach. I find that the more simple I keep my diet the better. I gave up splenda. Was eating PB cups and zuchinni muffins made with it and uugghh felt awful. Right now I use no more than 2-3 packets of sweet&low a day. Things have improved greatly but still issue with cheese so I am giving it up as of today. . Read through the above links also take this test
http://www.howdyneighbor.com/jbayliss/crook.htm
(I scored a 266 on it and see how you do.
There are lots of supplements that fight yeast you'll find them mentioned in above articles. Right now I am only taking a garlic supplement until I fugure out what my problem is. Good Luck Ellen

Hi Ellen,
I scored 229 on this quiz. I printed it out
so my mom could take it. She feels that
she may be yeast intolerant as well.

I surely hope that I can get this under
control.

Let me know what you find out and
keep me posted on your progress!

Take care!
Tanya

Default Oh My! How high???

I took the test and came in at a whopping 274! No question about it. May be why I have developed Crohn's Disease. My symptoms have subsided somewhat on Atkins. Now maybe I know why! I bet I have a gluten allergy.

But the docs just want to throw medication at it. None of them ever broached the subject of diet.

Sorry to hear that Barbara! I firmly
believe that our diet will enhance
our health. Let me know how you
are doing!

By the way, what part of OH are
you from? I was born in Kettering,
OH right outside of Dayton. Go
there to visit in the summers.

Nice meeting you.
