Default Metformin Check Up

i have been takin metformin now for a year, and this month i have my 4th (i think) appointment with the GYN and every time i have been since they put me on it they have just spoke to me for 5mins and said ok keep takin it and then iv left

but i duno wat is ment to be happenin, i read some where that takin it for a long period can do damage to ur liver and bones? should i be havin tests to check this is still all fine?

i live in UK so obvously the way they do things here will be dif to say the USA but does any one know wat the UK is meant to do??

iv never had any test except one blood one to confrim i had PCOS, no lipids or what ever that is

can any one help or advise?
