Default Do you subtract fiber grams from carb grams?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've decided to try a semi-low carb diet this time around because Atkins destroys my digestion. So I'm wondering, when you count carbs, do you still subtract the fiber from the total carb count to find the net carbs that you eat?

(Hope that's true, because I'm on a very high fiber eating plan).

TIA.

I don't, but I just started carb cycling and am still working out what works for me. On low-carb days, I eat .6 x my body weight which is about 100 grams of carbs. That's so much higher than the 20 per day in the induction phase of Atkins that I chose against doing net carbs.

Thanks for the reply. I think I've tried it all over the years; strict Atkins was successful weight-wise, but I hated the intestinal side effects. These more moderate plans should work, too, even if they take longer.

I'd love to hear from other people, too, concerning how to count grams of fiber.

I do carb cycling as well and count all my carbs, except green leafy veggie carbs don't count. They barely have carbs anyway, so I usually include them in the total count.

I have always subtracted fiber, since it is not digestable.

I did so well on 100 carb grams per day that on my 3rd cycle I reduced it to 60, which I also did very well on. Now I'm down to 40 and have decided to count only usable carbs.

I count them all...but I allow myself 50g per day while aiming for as little as possible. Yesterday I estimated my carb count at around 15 (est high). My bacon has a bit, I had some almonds, and spinach.
