Kim,

Hi! I see you are from Broken Arrow... I graduated from high school in Tulsa. I'm an original "Okie", born and raised in Oklahoma.

It looks like your weight loss is off to a great start. Congratulations!

Kimberly

Kimberly,

What school in Tulsa did you go to? I graduated from Victory Christian School in 1984. Then I went to ORU for 2 years.

Weight loss is off to a good start but I'm just kind of staying at the same weight for the last week. This week will try to drink a lot more water.

God Bless -

Kim

What took you to Tennessee?

Camou,

You just go ahead and use whatever sweetener you are using, it will be fine.

Cleanheart (love your name BTW)

I've seen your rootbeer recipe before and been tempted to try it. My reserve is because I don't like cream soda and I figure it will taste like that.
Let me know what it tastes like.
I do have Dr. Thunder in the house and may give it a try with that. If I do I will report back my results, too.

Cleanheart,

I just tried adding cream and ice to my Dr. Thunder. It tasted just fine. But truthfully, I like the soda just as well as 0 carbs and with 1 carb. I struggle to keep under 20 each day, so I will save the extra carb for my veggies!!

Randi Sue, thank you for the help!!!

Kim, I went to Jenks for awhile when I was younger, but actually graduated from East Central in '89. I moved shortly after graduation and have heard that the area has gotten really bad. It makes me sad to think about it not being a nice area anymore and that the school might not be as good as it was. I've often thought about moving back, but I think my husband is content here for now. How much water have you been drinking? I've been drinking 80 ounces everyday, no more and no less. I really don't like drinking water, so it is a big stretch for me.

I hope you are both having a good start to your week!

Kimberly

randisue: thanks for the heads up on the "rootbeer float". I still haven't tried it yet. It did sound good though. - Like you, I'm just as satisfied with my diet pepsi.

kimberly: My older sister went to East Central but it was years before you did. She really liked it. As for my water intake, it's a stretch for me to drink 60 ounces a day. Each day I try to add more and I am finding it is getting easier. I have to watch the amount of diet pop I drink so I don't get headaches from the artificial sweeteners.

PS - I took the name "cleanheart" because of a daily prayer I pray...."create in me a clean heart Oh Lord and renew a right spirit within me."

I liked the story for your name. More creative than mine certainly.

Well, went shopping today to get an outfit to wear to an important meeting I have wednesday, as I realised my waistline has grown and none of my work clothes will fit, ( I work from home now, so have been wearing sweats and tee shirts, doesnt work for customer face to faces)

I got a view of myself in a three-way mirror. MAN OH MAN, By the time I hit nine months pregnant I will look like a bowling ball with legs, arms and head stuck on!

Oh well I am starting to look pregnant instead of fat so at least I can say that is the upside.

Have a blessed day!

I have a challenge for all the Christians on the board.

Lets pray for all the members of this board this week as a group. Pray for success, strength, growth and weight loss.

I know the power of prayer and it will be great to share it with everyone here.

What do you guys think?

You can count me on the prayers as well!

I'm facing my first real hurtle now. My MIL is coming in town unexpectedly tomorrow and it also looks as though my husband has decided that we should move into a new place by the 1st of Aug. I don't handle surprises very well, and these are two big ones in the same day. I have never handled stress or change very well and that was usually my time to give into the cravings for carbs. I can only pray that God will be with me and give me the strength that I need to overcome.

Kimberly

Hi, I'd so much like to join this board, because I,too, find it hard to keep the Lord out of my posts when He's so important in every area of my life. Kim, I will be sending up prayers for you as you face these challenges! I'm new to the forum and am really happy to find a thread for Christians.

Back to you all soon.
