Well I bought a $100.00 watch with a chest strap that monitors your heart. Today I exercised in the gym and did mostly weights and a had cycle thingie. I managed to keep my heart rate between 135 and 160 for about 45 min.
Does anyone else have one of these things and have you noticed if it helps your work outs? I am looking forward to using it on my 11 mile rolls. (I use a wheelchair) The weather is getting better and I am hoping to roll in the morning again.
I would like to be able to lift weights in the evening. But something keeps getting in the way.
I have one of the cheaper Polars. I use it on my bike rides to monitor my intensity. It is most useful for keeping me from going too hard on longer rides and recovery days.
Dh got me one for Christmas. I like to use it when I'm on the eliptical, bike or treadmill. It gives me a better idea of intensity and motivates me more than just the talk test.
