Default Hello from Horsham:)

Hi Ev1,
Hope you are all doing well with your LC eating plan.
I am starting today.
I'm scared, but, very excited at the prospect of losing a lot of ugly fat
My partner will join me tomorrow, he is having his last carb binge today.
I have had a quick look around this site, and it is filled with valuable info, especially the recipes.
I'm so pleased I found you

Lyn

Thank you Caroline & Elizellen,

I've had indigetion most of the day is this the norm?
Maybe it's the amount of water my body's not used to having
I'm looking forward to my dinner...Steak with creamy mushroom sauce.
I've added lots of herbs and pepper to give the sauce some flavour.
I'm pleased you both welcomed me, Thank you.
I am lucky my other hlaf is joining me on this journey, we both need to lose weight.
Enjoy your weekend

Lyn

Hi Eme,
Thank you for the welcome
Last night and most of this morning I had a thumping headache, however, after increasing my water intake it has now gone
This is my 2nd day of LC and so far so good.
I am a little concerned I may get tired of eating meat, so tomorrow I plan to look up some interesting veggie recipes. Luckily I like to experiment with food in the kitchen so this could be fun
I bought a small bottle of lemon & lime flavoured water today, it was really nice and contained 0 carbs. Is it ok to drink this during induction?
I also bought some lactose free milk as I really hate black tea and was in desperate need of one. If I find I'm not losing weight within the first week I will stop having my one cup of tea per day.
When I was shopping I looked at the sugar free jelly, but, decided against it as I have a real problem with sweet foods...I LOVE em
Does anyone here know of a support group in the UK where we could meet up? It would be great to support each other in the "real" world.
I hope you are all doing well

Lyn

hi Lyn, i had that headache too but it didn't last long. mine was caffeine. i'm a big coffee drinker and switching to decafe wasn't easy but it was better than no coffee at all. i tried the soya milk too and i wasn't so keen on it so i stayed with cream.
The lemon and lime drink sounds great, can you tell me what brand it is please. i'm guessing it should be ok if it's 0 carbs but i've read many times on here that people need to be aware of added sweetners and sugar alcohols.
The sugar free jelly wasn't great on its own but omg when you add marscaponi cream cheese to it then set it, it's like a moose and only 2g carbs per serving and ok to eat during induction.. here is the link to the recipe

Hi Caroline,
Thanks for the recipe link...have added to my faves.
The lemon and lime drink "Perfectly Clear" Having just looked at the list of ingredients, it does contain Aspartame, so maybe it's a no no?
The milk I bought is Lactose free, not soya milk. I found it in Waitrose. When I go to town tomorrow I'll look in Sainsbury's to see if they stock it.
Well done with your weight loss.
Lyn

Hi Lyn and thank you. i have not dropped a single lb in over 3 weeks but when i stood on the scales this morning it was down 1lb yay! i have seen lactose free milk in tesco but not tried it yet. thank you also for the name of the lemon drink. i dont like to drink anything with aspartame in purely because a lot of people are wary about it not being so good for you and it raises insulin levels. i know sainsburys is the only place that doesn't have aspartame in their diet drinks.

Thanks for the info Caroline, I will visit Sainsbury's and stock up with their drink.
I haven't had a headache since Saturday, I keep glugging the water.
I feel slimmer already! I definately have more energy and that feels really good.
I must admit I am longing to eat fruit...only 12 days to go lol
I look at this site several times a day. It makes this eating plan so easy reading about peoples success, hints and tips.
Today I will boil some eggs, as my partner has joined me and he needs to take a lunch box to work. Yesterday he ate in the works canteen and could only find lettuce, tomato and cucumber to eat, everything else was carbs. Luckily I made a huge veg & cheese bake for the evening. We really enjoyed it, but, we never ate as much as we normally would, it was very filling.
Today I will look at the recipes and see what delight I can knock up for tonight lol
Keep up the great work ev1
Lyn

If you are missing fruit you could always have some rhubarb, which is on the one-cup veg list for induction!
Though usually eaten cooked it can be nice if sliced thinly and soaked in some sweetened water or sugarfree syrup as a fruit salad with some whipped cream.
