Default probiotics and antifungals

Hello,

I have heard mixed responses to this but can people who have been through the kill of the candida successfully providde their responses. I was told to do the diet for 1 week then start the antifungals. At no time was I told to take a probiotic. Should I take the antifungals first for a period of time and then add the probiotics or am I able to take antifungals in am and probiotics in pm??

Thoughts? I wouldn't want to be adding more yeast to just kill it off. But the probiotics are the good yeast correct? Can they turn into the bad yeast?

ps - the antifungals I am taking are Candida Clear by NOW

The probiotics you take should not contain any yeast at all. They should contain only bacteria. Make sure you read the label of the probiotic before you buy it to make sure they don't include any strains of yeast.

Also, you can take probiotics both during and after your treatment for Candida. It's best to do it that way actually because as the Candida is killed off, you want to replace it with the friendly bacteria. If you don't replace it with friendly bacteria, then the Candida can just grow back once you are finished with your treatment.

This is one of those issues that is so confusing about Candida. I've read diet, antifungals and then probiotics, but I've also read probiotics all the way through while doing diet first, then antifungals. I guess there's really no harm in doing probiotics all the way through.

What probiotics have you been using? I am trying Coconut oil, garlic and oil of oregano on a four day rotation. I haven't gotten the probiotics yet because I'm still trying to research what would be best.

Hi,

Well; I started this diet December 8th and I fell SO MUCH BETTER. I am now two weeks of feeling back to 100 percent (minus the cardio levels) but I decided to take the antifungals in the morning on a empty stmacha dn tehn wait at least 1/2 hour to eating breakfast at which I took my multi vitamin. At night just prior to going to bed, again on an empty stomach I took the probiotics.

I taje the Candida Clear which has the Pao D'Arco, olive leaf, oregano, etc. But I also take 2 drops of oregano oil in the morning and 2 at night.

I tell you I feel so much better the only issue thereis that it is so much harder to follow the diet when you feel better!!! But I do it!!

Good luck to you

Hey Courtknee,

You can take probiotics at anytime during your Candida treatment. Some say however it's best to take probiotics after your round of anti fungals. The reason is because if you have an overgrowth of Candida in your gut, then the probiotics will not have any free space where they can colonize. But in my opinion it doesn't hurt to take them during your treatment too. That way as you are killing off the Candida, you are immediately replacing it with friendly bacteria.

Personally I use Nature's Way brand probiotics. They got a good score in a consumer lab report. You can get them at www.vitacost.com

These are the three that I take...

Primadophilus Optima
Primadophilus Bifidus
Primadophilus Reuteri
