Default Yummy steak!

I bought this marinade today that had no carbs or sugars. It was SO flavorful!

The marinade is called "Grill Mates Montreal Steak Marinade" by McCormick. It is in a little packet and you have to add water, oil, and vinegar.

Just mix up the marinade, let is soak in it for minimum of 15 minutes, and then cook the steak however you want.. grill, broil, or bake!

Its yummyyyyyy!!!

Default Fast Home Made Steak Rub

I ran out of my usual standby steak seasoning last night, so I made one up on the fly. It turned out better than I could have believed!

Equal parts (I used 1tsp):
Cumin Seed
Mustard Seed
Coriander Seed
Cayenne Powder
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
Black Peppercorns

I ripped up about 2 inches of a dried pepper and added it and the seeds.

I roasted everything in a dry skillet until smoking and then ground it.

I added an equal amount of salt and then rubbed it into a well marbled ribeye steak. Then a quick 10 minutes on the grill and voila.

The fat from the steak allowed the rub to dissolve and spread, resulting in great flavour with a nice finishing glow.

Colin

That one had carbs, that is why I didn't get it... but I think it was 1-2 carbs per serving, so for dinner that isnt bad at all. I just am trying to be SUPER SUPER good for the induction period.

Save some money and just buy the flavors you like in bulk and make your own marinafes - then, the bonus is you know what is truly in the ingredient list!

Ya, I spent $120 at the store when I started the other day. So I will just be buying meats and a few things soon, I still have chicken, ground beef, and steak but I ate all the fish and one steak that I had.

I love this diet, but its expensive!!

When I remember how much I used to spend eating in restaurants and driving through fast food windows, I'm spending LESS feeding myself.

I HEAR YOU! I am spending a FORTUNE on meat.... partially because when that is the BULK of what you eat, you want it to be GOOD! So cheap steaks just wont do. I TOTALLY watch the sale ads, and stock up at Costco, and Sam's club..... It is work though...
