Default Washing foods with GSE question

How long are you supposed to soak foods in GSE before eating them? 20 minutes? 1 hour?

I wasn't even aware this was recommended anywhere. Seems a bit hard core to me.

A lot of sites recommend that you wash fruits, vegetables, and, especially, nuts and seeds in case of any yeast, mold, and/or fungus that may be growing on them. I only soak nuts, seeds, and blueberries though.

Well, I agree with washing fruits and vegetables, but only because of all the pesticides that farmers use nowadays, plus the fact I have no idea whose touching the fruit or vegetable before it winds up in my mouth. But I only wash it under running water, not with any special cleaning product. I remember watching a report on TV where they took Fit (some product for washing fruit and vegetables) and they compared it with just plain tap water, and they found that tap water was just as good as washing fruits and vegetables as Fit was.

Seems logical to soak food in GSE for yeast, fungus, or mold, but I must admit I've never done it and I'm o.k. Guess you should just do whatever works for you.
