Yesterday, I managed to get through my first successful fast in quite a while. And the scale went UP. That was not the celebratory morning moment I was hoping for. Oh, well. Tomorrow is another day.

Be patient. See what tomorrow brings. Fasting has not been a linear effect for me either.

Up, but I have other positive things happening. I totally changed my sleep schedule so it makes sense that the scale is wonky.

I just found out that the last job I applied for where they made me feel deeply educationally unqualified (I have a Master's), they hired a HS graduate even though the job required at least a BA. Why do places do that? The full-time job before that that I lost out on that required a BA also went to someone without a degree. Just say what the job is.

I think the person that got it is great and has good qualifications regardless, but they put me through a wringer about my lack of qualification in the interviewing process.

Wow, very confusing. Im at the point of helping my kids decide college or not college. I hear over and over just pursue the tech info. Jobs are waiting for skilled workers with HS diploma. No college degree.

This was a teaching job. I mean, if K-8 teachers don't need degrees, seriously, it is a waste of time. I was stunned. Usually in teaching they respect a degree if not anywhere else.

That is disappointing!! HEre in Massachusetts a teach must have bachelors and working on a masters. Not that I think a masters makes a better teacher after all I have seen. At the tech school I dont know what credentials are required for the shop teachers; the typical math, science and such require a masters though not necessarily in that field.

IMO teachers should be the highest trained professionals possible. The better the teachers, the better the learning. imo.

THe preschoolers here have super teachers-- imo far better than 90% of the k-8 teachers. Based on 2 kids in public school. A crappy one at that.

Hi everybody! I desperately need a little accountability - I've been struggling since I got back to Japan.

jschwab, that's so weird! I would be frustrated, too.

Stabilizing a bit. Struggling a bit with fasting until 1pm when my lunch is.
