Exclamation sugar lover - candida support

hi,

new here.....on week four and have certainly had my ups and downs. No die off symptoms on the nystatin.

I do take a fiber (psyllium) drink in the am and pm. It may be helping. (note to birth control users...do not take drink and pill at the same time)

I have been using stevia as my sweetner (still drinking one cup of organic coffee a day) just not willing to give up yet.

I have had apples and cinnamon. (even saute'd in butter)...but have been told "if it is sweet...do not eat"

True or untrue????

I am afraid if I start on some sweets (honey, fruits, organic cane) I will spiral back. Already testing the water on that. A nibble here and there....help.

Don't even try to eat anything sweet like that for at least 3 months, I waited that long and added stuff back (fruit) and had a grow back. Have to peel back and take more supplements. I'm not having a die off problem this time so maybe it's not as bad as I feared. It makes me have sinus problems. They're almost gone again, just not gonna be able to eat fruit like I used too. Have to work on that.

HTH Liz

HI Annie:

Tell your Doctor to take you the HECK off Nystatin and put you on Diflucan (at least 100 mg). Nystatin is KNOWN to depress your own immune system and eventually the fungus become *super fungus* with nystatin. 99% of the doctors found this out a decade ago. Diflucan is much faster and more effective with MUCH less die off.

If you happen to be taking a birth control pill (as you made mention with the psyllium) STOP. Estrogen and estrogen like hormones lead to fungal infections and will keep you from getting better.

If you possibly can....ingest psyllium WITHOUT any additives. I know it sounds like a pain in the butt because the *mixing* kind at the store (Metamucil or the like) has sugar in it, even when it says SUGAR FREE.
You can find pure psyllium husk at your natural health food store.

Yup, NO sugars for awhile and avoid most carbs too (unless they are 90 to 100% fiber). Avoid whole wheat bread with yeast - yeast free can be bought at health food store.

I use Splenda but I cannot tell you if it is safe, as it is made from sugar.
I also eat Pure DeLite belgium chocolate bars (allowed on Atkins) but again, I'm not sure I should be because the sweetener, maltitol is just a different sugar. I just realized the other day that my splenda fruity drinks are addicting and it is because of the citric and ascorbic acids in them (the fungus likes that). So, now I have to cut them out for awhile (was wondering why I wanted 4 or 5 of them in a day - shoot).

SUPPLEMENTS: Be careful with regular vitamin C - the acid feeds the fungus.
Be careful to get supplements that say YEAST FREE (usually you can find these at a health food store). B vitamins are especially suspect of the yeast - particularly brewers yeast in them.

Hope that Helps ya a little

Another good HFS anticandida supplement is liquid grapefruit seed extract. It's cheap and strong. I use it every day along with l-glutamine to repair my gut and a good probiotic to rebuild the beneficial bacteria. Both as important as the antifungal.

Question question?

ok guys,

so I have some not-so-severe symptoms, like hand cramps, my face itches and sometimes gets rosacia looking (however you spell it)

My biggest complaint was fatigue (but I have a 3 and 4-year old) and super sugar cravings.

I can already say, off sugar is good for me. I lost some weight and the cravings are soooo much better.

Fatigue, I don't know or can't tell yet. (it has been 1 month now) also, now when I eat bell peppers or salsa, I get super bloated and gassy.
Same with sugar I think. Maybe I am much more observant to how foods are reacting in my stomach now.

So will this so called way of eating help? any thoughts???

Hi Annie:
If you get hand cramps or leg cramps with frequency than your yeast infection is not very mild. The yeast are LEACHING the potassium from your system to feed themselves and they have a decent sized *army* to be doing that. It is a good idea to take potassium pills and perhaps compliment it with magnesium and calcium. You may be experience new food intolerances with the salsa. At my worst, when I ate anything except green leafies veggies, I bloated and had some kind of reaction in my system (yucky). Now, I do fine at mealtime.
