ok, almond milk is not on the list of beverages, will have to hold off until i can eat nuts?so no almond milk for induction. I have my menu planned out for the week, two weeks, from a different site that lists seven day of induction meals. Any changes were checked against the iist, I start tomorrow. Wish me luck! I think I need to print the allowed food list out.

Good Luck and I think printing the list is an excellent idea. I had a printed list of the foods I ate at the beginning, the carb count for 100 g of these foods and a scale to measure the foods. it worked for me for a long time. I still weigh vegetables 90 percent of the time.

Actually it depends which Atkins program you are following. Unsweetened almond milk is very low carb and allowed during induction under the New Atkins for a New You program, even though nuts are not allowed. My understanding is that is because portion control of nuts is difficult for many (I'm looking at myself here), but it is unlikely someone would blow their daily carb allowance on almond milk.

Almond milk was not a widespread product when the earlier versions of Atkins were written so we really don't know what Dr Atkins might have thought of it.

As Liz wrote, it is allowed in some newer versions, but you might want to consider what is used to make Almond "Milk".
Even if unsweetened, there are some thickeners and weird ingredients that may hinder weight loss.

I followed NANY to start and did use some in tea, etc. but later switched to heavy cream.

Thanks for the replies. I guess that I will try it and see because I bought some before reading or asking, I will just keep it to a cup a day.
