Default Do the symptoms disappear later?

I was diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago although I have "managed " it for the last year or so and my hormone levels came out"normal", I am wondering if the symptoms really go away.
Facial hair and infertility especially.

Hi Dylan!

I am Corrie and I too have PCOS. Ihaven't been as diligent unfortunately to get my rear in gear to make my life better for me. It's definitely a struggle everyday of my life. I applaud you for being able to do so and have your tests come back "normal"

While the symptoms "go away", they will come back if you don't follow your WOL and bounce back off the wagon.

I wish you all the best hun!

DAmn- I hope they will though. I mean- following good intentions I plan to keep myself healthy subsequently maintaining good FH and LH levels but does that mean my sweet sideburns (they are really not that bad) and rings around my neck (even though slender now) will ALWAYS BE THERE?!

Lets hoping they don't!

what do you mean rings around your neck?
You symptoms will disappear, so long as you keep yourself in that healthy state to keep them away. Myself, I still struggle everyday.

These rings are suppose to be classic signs of PCOS as well.
They are not red, swollen or anyhting of that sort They just look like creases from one side of your neck to the other. What makes it more apparent in me is that I have a long thinner neck. Perhaps its that *I* notice it much more because htey are there and I know what they are caused from. I also notice others with the same and then secretly notice other attributes to PCOS as well- facial hair for example. I only have the hair on the sides of my face now and mostly just peach fuzz. So I guess it just dawned on me that it has been less in color and development than I saw three years ago.
LOL- thanks for getting my thinking cap on.

Also, my hormone levels from my blood work prove this as well. :0

Default How is it diagnosed?

After reading the symptoms, I think I may have it as well. I wouldn't want to take drugs for it. I am new to low-carb after a 3yr "break" due to childbirth 2 times and breastfeeding. I was under the impression that it was not safe. If I had the info I had now, I would have stayed low carb!

algts --- Definitely do research for yourself and take alist of symptoms of PCOS as well as the symptoms that you display.

www.pcosupport.org is a great site to get some more info on it. and take this with you to your doc. Lots of blood work and possibly an ultrasound will be done.

dylan --- you are welcome about the thinking cap. my mom has that! I don't tho.
