Thanks for the info! We sound identical in our approach to seking out the Stall Cuprit, eh? Yeah, I've been starting to decrease my yummy splenda as well. Keep me posted, will you?

Hugs, Annie-Pie

The first time I was on induction I drank 2 8oz mugs with 1 tbs heavy cream in each cup a day. I lost 14 lbs in the two weeks. Then I fell off Labor Day weekend and when I started back on induction Sept. 2ond. I kept drinking my coffee. I was stalled for quite some time so I cut out the coffee for about 4 days. I missed it so I made decaff after that and it seems I lost 2 lbs. So I'm confused with the coffee thing. lol

Bon and Annie-Pie you both mention cutting out your use of Splenda. I am pretty new to this WOE and have suppected Splenda as the cause of my falling out of Ketosis. (I ran out for about a week and noticed that when I started using it again in my coffee my strips went to light pink or tan) I didn't eat anything else that was different. Have you heard that Splenda can cause problems?

Coffee certainly is our drug of choice isn't it??? I figure if I need to abuse one drug in life...coffee is better than the rest. I am addicted to Dunkin Donuts French vanilla! My usual was a daily 20 ounce with cream and 2 sweet n lows. I am trying to conceive so I am down to one 14 ounce a couple times a week, but can't kick the diet coke. I am also a coffee snob...can't stand anything I make at home...never tastes good!

Guess I'm a Nazi. I followed induction to the letter and gave up caffeine. My coffee of choice used to be International Foods French Vanilla---LOVED that stuff. I did find some pretty good Kona Decaf beans in bulk at the Piggly Wiggly, which were pretty good (although nothing can hold a candle to IF-FV). But even so, knowing that coffee was an extra carb point, I only had it once or twice. Mainly I drink decaf green tea or decaf English Breakfast tea; with Splenda and cream, I can live with it.

Thumbs up

On induction I drank only decaf and for the most part still do. My dh prefers coffee with caffeine. So when he's home and wants coffee I prepare the half decaf and half caffeine. He's okay with that.

I used to be the first one in line at Starbucks for my morning double mocha but I stoped that a few years ago. One good thing that came from my lowfat diet days. I did not drink any coffee during induction but I do have decaff occasional now.

Default Can't give up coffee!!!

I have an espresso at 5am when I get up, and a regular coffee after chores are done. I lost 21 pounds during induction and another 14 since. Just my opinion, but it seems nothing would interfere with weight loss during induction when I was really heavy, but the pounds come off harder now that I'm slimming down. Not sure if coffee has anything to do with that. Maybe I should give up that 6 gram cappuccino in the morning and have another cup of regular joe.

But I work at a gourmet coffee roaster and have my pick of any bean I want...so kicking this "habit" is not a direction I want to go!

Pete

I did not vote because you didn't put an option for no coffee. On induction and still in OWL I have dropped all caffine drinks - no coffee, tea, diet drinks etc. Water with just a bottle of Crystal Light or Fruit2O maybe once a week after induction.

I'm surprised that so few have mentioned half-caf/half-decaf! I've been mixing my beans half and half (and asking for half-caf/half-decaf brewed coffee at Peets and Starbucks) for years... allows me to enjoy more coffee without worrying about the jitters. My husband thought it was a terrible idea, but now he wouldn't have it any other way.
I drank my normal amounts all through induction and lost the expected induction sized chunk of weight.

Try it! You'll like it!

Welllll
I drink about 3 pots of reg. coffee daily, Been doing it for years. Never had a prob. with it stalling my weight loss, in all my dieting years (way to many years).

In fact I just did a weighin and lost 5 lbs YOOWOOO

now on the other hand the AS has been a prob for me, I gave all of them up. even my diet soda. I only have 1 pkt. of the splenda when I have the pork rind french toast for brunch. (make me a cinnamin, sugar butter to pour on top) don't add it in the french tost mix.

I drink one big mug of regular coffee every morning (and did through induction also) with cream and splenda.
