I don't know anything about a keto plan for thyroid conditions but I know my thyroid levels improve considerably following a VLC or even just LC diet. I had my thyroid removed a couple of years ago bc cancer was highly suspected (ended up benign). I think I'm just better able to absorb/utilize my synthroid and nutrients due to resolution of gut issues/inflammation and other health problems by following LC.

I know this thread is kind of old, but since I was officially diagnosed and out on Synthroid a week ago, I've been digging and poking around here more.

I've heard that people with thyroid issues don't metabolize sugar the same as other people and many hypo people find low carb the only way they can lose. I have also heard around here that VLC isn't good either because it puts strain on the thyroid or Somwthing like that. I use myfitnesspal and have my percentages set at 70%fat, 20% protein, and 10% carbs. I feel like it's working for me, but think I might change the fat to 60% and protein to 30%. Not sure if that's recommended, Cnut I'm having a hard time feeling full without the protein. I guess everyone is different, which is why this journey varies so wildly from person to person. Good luck!
