Chloe, thank you for the kind words.

The surgery was painful, but it's definitely been worth it already. Before, I passed about 60-75% of the time, but now it's 100%. My clothes look right, and I feel normal again for the first time since I was about eight and started to hit puberty. The surgery pain is diminishing and all of the emotional pain I've been carrying around by being in a body that was wrong and getting called by the wrong pronouns is evaporating. The boost to my self-esteem has been - profound.

Now I just need to get in shape.

Azzy and Kizses, I live in a primarily Jamaican neighborhood in the Bronx, mixed with a smaller amount of Puerto Ricans (my wife is PR), and assorted other places in the Caribbean - plus me, the white mutt.

Smile Hey Yall

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I hung out a little too much on Saturday. Drinks (low-carb of course), etc. But I'll be paying for it at the gym this week. It sure was fun

Rad-I grew up in Brooklyn and I have family in the Bronx. I definitely miss my fellow Jamaicans. I hardly meet any here in Rochester.

Kiszes-I might take a trip this summer...who knows. what is the atmosphere like for lbgt people now. Is it different towards lesbians? Just curious...

Well, it's been a week since DH's Lap Band surgery. He's already down an inch at the chest, 2" around the stomach and 1 1/2" from the waist! I'm definitely going to have it later this year.

On another note, hello and welcome to all the new folks! Thanks for helping keep this thread alive!!

I screwed up today, now I am going to have to start all over tomorrow.

I was in a depressing mood, so I dive into 2 Jumbo Hot Dogs, 2 donuts, and a medium soda. Ohh how I just want to die after.

McDad,

There seems to be no hope.

I feel like I need a straight jacket and checking into rehab.

When I fall inlove, I fall hard and even though I see danger, I still jump straight into it with everything I got.

I am going to close my eyes and JUMP, JUMP straight into low carb, I dont care what happens, whether I fail or win I am going to wallow in it and if after approximately 4 months I dont even see a 1lb difference I will quit.

Thats a promise.

Default We are all in the same boat...

Kiszes, we are here for support. I'm glad you have made a commitment to stick with it. It's difficult because it is a lifestyle change. Just remember, no one is perfect. Take one day at a time and don't be TOO hard on yourself. If you have a bad day, it's ok. In my experience, the first 4 weeks are the hardest but the cravings will pass. I'm a results-oriented person...so I understand your frustration but the weight WILL come off in time. Just remember to tell yourself that you can do it and you WILL.
