Default supplements to reduce cortisol? build muscle?

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had any good recommendations about supplements that help reduce cortisol levels or that help build muscle?

Trustycat- definitely try L-glutamine. Get the powder and mix it in with a shake after your workout. It also helps with sugar cravings.

I just purchased some L-glutamine in capsule form. The bottle said that one 500mg cap is the daily dose, but what dose do you recommend taking?

Mitsy K sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but don't buy L-glut in caps!

The recommended dose that everyone seems to recommend (at least while working out, not sure if you're not exercising much), is 15g a day.... and since it takes 2 of those caps to be 1g, you'd need to take 30 a day!

Best bet is to get your l-glut in powdered form.

That's OK, I'll know better next time. It was purchased on a whim at the grocery store.
I must confess, I have been taking 2,000 mg twice a day 8 caps total, because I noticed a difference in the way I felt (honest!) but didn't want to take more until I found out if it was all right.
When this is gone I promise to buy the powder!
I don't have an exercise routine right now, but I do have 5 acres of hobby farm and gardens, plus two kids to care for, so I am quite active, plus I've been under wa-a-ay too much stress for the last couple of years, so I figure if anyone has excessive cortisol in their system, it has to be me!

Hehehehehe

I don't know why they bother selling the caps at all, they are such low doseage.

Hopefully it'll continue to make a difference for you.

They sell capsules because they can get more money from us unsuspecting fools who don't know better.

Its the same reason that most folks buy their drip system stuff at Home Cheapo instead of going to a local irrigation place and pay about half price--like I've do. Also, its a matter of volume, too. Most folks don't buy 500' rolls of pipe and fist-fulls of fittings. Some folks will only take the 1 a day recommendations on the bottle.

It's convenient and we're ignorant!

But, I've learned my lesson today!!

a word of warning, L-glutamine knocks you out of ketosis!

so does whey protein when it's taken anytime other than PWO

I'm taking Relacore which reduces cortisol.
I've been on it since Monday and have lost 3 inches in the belly area.
