I first read about the connection between acne and excess carbs about 15 years ago, although this is the first I've seen anything about it since. Perhaps that study was related more to teen acne being a lot worse on a high carb diet though, rather than the relationship to adult acne. Either way, the link between carbs and acne was quite obvious to me quite a few years ago.
Quote:
Ultimately, the results found a link between adult acne and the consumption of "fatty and sugary products, sugary beverages and milk."

Dietary fat has little or nothing to do with acne (also information gleaned from the study I'd read all those years ago), but I see that the author of this article still feels such a desperate need to get a dig in against that dastardly fat consumption that FAT is the very first thing mentioned, no matter what the real culprit is.
The foods they mention further down in the article are all sugary, carby foods - the only place fat is mentioned in the article is in that list at the beginning of the article, which to me says that the author is making unfounded assumptions based on the preconceived notion that fat is bad for everything. The rest of it only mentions things like sugary drinks, foods with added sugars, and anything that raises blood sugar levels - which fat does not do. They included milk in the list of problem foods, but later in the article admitted it was a weak link.
