Substitute for Molasses?

We're having a BBQ this afternoon and I want to make slow cooker chicken wings but my recipe calls for molasses. Does anyone know what I could substitute? I was just going to omit that ingredient because there are lots of other flavours in there, I think it will still be yummy, but if someone knows a good LC substitute - that would be great!!
