I know, I use to love smoked canned oysters but not anymore... I eat nothing that comes from Communist China. Garlic is a bad one, they've been sending it here to the US for a while now, couldn't pay me to eat it!

Lol

The garlic bed is growing. Doubled the amount planted a year ago. Planning to have a years worth in the freezer by next fall.

Fresh oysters are $1.00 to $1.25 each. The best zinc source. Noodling around how to freeze single serving sizes . The fresh are usually from the Gulf, nit China.

Yes I definitely love to raw oysters and they are local.
Back in the day, I loved a ritz cracker with a dab of Mayo and then the little smoked oyster on top. I have searched every can in any store I go to and not one is from the US anymore. I was looking year ago and the only cannery left that I found in the US which is on the west coast but there is now concern over the Japanese nuclear disaster having reached the West Coast oysters.

Who knows?
I first read about radioactive concerns with the special seaweed that's so high in Iodine and then later about the oysters.
