Smile Low Carb Bread

Tesco

  • Nimble Carbs So Lo which works out about 7g of carb per slice, but it is just like normal bread. Priced at 89p for 400g.

0 carb fizzy pop from 14p.

Rowantrees sugar free jelly - 3g carb per 100g. I usually add a bit of Splenda as well but otherwise pretty good! 54p for 2 sachets.

Slim Fast Snack Bars - 0.8 carbs per bar ~ £3.49 for 6 bars.

Diet Coke - caffeine free. £1.28 for 2 litres.

Sainsbury's also do their own low carb bread which is about 5g carb per slice. No price seeing as their website is down!

Asda's are doing Carbolite bars now. The breakfast ones are in Strawberry and Blueberry and are a bit pricey at 5 for £4.97, but at least it's a start.

They're also doing Carbolite chocolate bars at £1.03 each.

Although I've not bought from the store, I see that www.locarbmegastore.co.uk claim to have them. Let us know what they're like.

Cheers

Default m&s

I know alot of the Uk people arent happy with the stuff in M&S - and to some degree i agree--for example all their roast chicken stuff is marinated in brown sugar and dextrose--why put that in the low carb section?? BUT i went to the M&S supermarket opposite selfridges and i got:

Smoked crispy bacon--£1.99 ( really nice- salty and crunchy just like crisps..but has some nitrates and additives..but what bacon hasn't?)

Prawn and Avacado salad with lemon and olive oil dressing--£2.70 ( really nice but a bit on the small side )

They should sell pre made sugar free jelly with double cream! Then i would go there all the time.. Hope my suggestions interest somebdy out there.

Default Sainsburys

do chicken breasts which, although quite salty, are very low carb. I lived on them when I started LCing!

I picked up some very nice little pots of fruity fromage frais there too. They're low fat and controlled sugar and work out at around 5 carbs per pot.

Ryvita Crackabread are about 3.8 carbs per slice and make a nice change from normal crispbread. Lovely slathered in butter with soft boiled eggs or just on their own (slathered in butter of course!)

Tesco's full fat cream cheese is 2.5g per 100g (philadelphia is around 3.2g IIRC) and it's only 77p for 200g

Default For Avlev:

Sorry. It isn't Sainsbury's bread. It's Weight Watchers. My mom got it from Sainsburys and told me about it.

Doh.

Those bacon things are a bit of a diappointment - they were quite bland. What were the bars like Ian? I'm in love with the Atkins Morning Shine (or is it Start?) bars - apple crisp is yummy!

Help! Anyone know any shops selling low carb tortillas? i've got ten days camping in denmark to cope with and am desperately trying to find things to take with me, stop me eating festival food!

Any ideas gratefully received - seen some weekend ideas but 10days is a long time to be without a fridge in terms of cheese and meat!
