BK, I was happy to come across this post today. I needed it at a time of stall! Sometimes it feels like I'm the only one who notices that I'm doing anything right. Well, if I'm the only one I'd damn well better praise myself!

I know what you mean about this! At my current weight I sometimes think I look pretty good, but then I remember being (occasionally) able to think that at my old weight, so I know I was fooling myself, so I am probably still fooling myself.....but in truth I believe I am better off a little "fooled" than being able to see myself completely objectively. The best thing would be if we could not judge ourselves, but to do that we have to stop judging others, I think. When I see women heavier than I am I feel relieved that I'm now thinner, but isn't that a kind of arrogant judging of the other person? Somebody want to rationalize this for me?

Oh you are doing SO well!!!! 215!!! but yea... you'll keep on losing! Congrats on you new start to life.

I also am SO GLAD to be back to not being the biggest in a room many times now...

This made me laugh out loud. God, I so know what you mean! My cloak hasn't allowed me to ever feel 'cute' though, just 'okay' looking enough to go out to work!

Now wait a minute: I'm 53 and I sure do get the trek reference! In fact, my DH was one of the picketers that persuaded the studio to keep the original ST in production for another year! We've watched--and enjoyed--ALL of the ST incarnations...

So--you might be pleasantly surprised if you talked to your buds.

Must admit, it would be nice to get Scotty to beam up just the extra pounds!

I know just what you mean - I'm at that odd point too. It recently dawned on me that the reason I have been "shocked" by what I was seeing in store windows is that, in my mind, I have already lost my excess weight. I've been sticking to the plan, I'm feeling great, I'm feeling smaller, and when I see my still-large self in a window, it's jarring! I just have to be patient, and when my body catches up with my head I'll be fine. That's kind of comforting to me.

Hey! I do this too. It used to be that no matter what meeting I went to, no matter how many people were there - I was the biggest person in the room. I always noticed. And now I definitely notice - still not a lot, mind you - but I'm not always the biggest!

redawn--

Throughout yesterday's reaction to the trekkie reference, I forgot to say--you're doing a great job of shedding the extra poundage. The belly is going or gone, the thighs will go, too. Congratulations!
