O.k. Here is my question... I have been low carbing for a while. I have been pretty much only eating protein, vegis, and fruit. Do you all think it would make any difference if I stopped eating fruit for 2 weeks? I ask this because Atkins and South Beach Diet both suggest for the first 2 weeks, that you don't eat fruit. Do we not eat fruit just to stop the cravings or can we lose weight by just omitting fruit? If I have already been low carbing anyway and I don't have any cravings is there any benefit to not eating fruit?
I see that you have just got 7 pounds to go to reach your goal. On any diet those last pounds take a long time to leave and so it is likely to be longer than you would like for them to go.
On the fruit issue. How much are you having? I have around 2 portions of fruit a day, either eaten with my meal or with yoghurt to reduce the glycaemic index. Fruit is pure sugar and so you have to watch how much you eat, otherwise it is easy to have to many carbs. For example I have not had a banana in 2 years because it is just too high in carbs.
Look at how many carbs you are consuming and keep them around 40 - 60, depending upon your lifestyle. It may be that you have to do extra exercise to tone up those muscles and convert body fat to muscle to get rid of those last few pounds.
