First Low Carb Program webinar to be hosted in UK to help healthcare professionals
Quote:
Remission of type 2 diabetes with the low carb approach
Spaces are now available to attend the first-ever Low Carb Program webinar to help healthcare professionals better understand the principles of the Low Carb Program and how it can be used to support sustainable type 2 diabetes remission.
A maximum of 500 places have been allocated for the event on Friday, September 13, which will be hosted by Dr Campbell Murdoch, Chief Medical Officer at Diabetes Digital Media (DDM), and Tara Kelly, Lead Dietitian at DDM.
Healthcare professionals, NHS workers, GPs, dietitians, practice health coaches, pharmacists and diabetes nurses in the UK can sign up to attend the lunch-time webinar here.
In the first of the Low Carb Program webinar series, Murdoch and Kelly will be discussing the physiology behind low carb eating and the health benefits it can lead to. Last year, the one-year outcomes of the Low Carb Program were published in the peer-reviewed JMIR revealing that one in four users put their type 2 diabetes into remission [1].
Dr Murdoch is a Clinical Adviser to Royal College of General Practice and a faculty member of NHS England Sustainable Improvement Quality Improvement Team. He possesses longstanding clinical experience with low carbohydrate management of type 2 diabetes and is a practicing GP with specific interest in metabolic health.
Kelly’s expertise lies within therapeutic nutrition in the management of type 2 diabetes and other metabolic disorders. She said: “We are really looking forward to the series of upcoming webinars on the low carb approach. My hopes are that clinicians are able to offer this approach as a choice to all with type 2 diabetes.”
The one-hour webinar, titled ‘Management and remission of type 2 diabetes with the low carb approach’, will cover the science behind how a low carb approach can support type 2 diabetes remission, insights into the outcomes of the Low Carb Program and support for healthcare professionals looking to commission the Low Carb Program in primary care.
