I have a rebounder, it's great fun. I usually do about 20 minutes on it two or three times a week. You can do everything from a simple walking step to full on bouncing. It's really enjoyable to do with music on, combining the bouncing to the beat.
I remember coming across information from a study by NASA a while back which said "...for similar levels of heart rate and oxygen consumption, the magnitude of the biochemical stimuli is greater with jumping on a rebounder trampoline than with running."

Question

I think a rebounder might be fun and something I can do but where can I find one for my weight-the ones I saw online were over $400 and I just can't afford that!

Kevsmama, I bought mine at a church thrift store for $10. It is a good, sturdy one. You could also put a note up at a safe place, such as a church bulletin board, or something similar, saying you'd like one.

Rebounding has so many benefits, it'd be great if you could "scrounge" one up.

Can you buy just the vids? I have a rebounder that I bought for the kids to use on housebound days. We get those here in the frozen wastes! It doesn't have a balance bar, but I think I can make it work. But just jumping up and down for any length of time...uh, no, I probably won't do that regularly.

I used to run on mine.. I started at the 20 min a day and worked up from there. Doing a couple 20 min a day and then 40 min at a time. Its a great work out. I have horrible ankles so running on pavement is not the best choice for me.. however I have just got a treadmill (Still in the box) so I am looking forward to breaking that in.
As for costs of the rebounder, I see them second hand all the time and also Walmart carried a mini trampoline that works the same and its only around $30 I believe.

I use it as a clothes hanger and a dog bed since I got fat. It's just not as fun anymore. I can actually hit the floor now when jumping on it. This didn't happen when I weighed around 140 which was when I got it. I have one of the Needak Rebounders.. so it's not even a cheapy Walmart one.

Anyway.. I throw clothes on it..dog sleeps on top. He loves it.
